Heat Merchants in Naas, Co Kildare, currently have an excellent opportunity for a Van Driver/Stores Person to join the team.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This position will involve delivering goods to our customers in the Naas region and surrounding area. When there are no deliveries to be completed, you will assist the team with the stores area. This will include putting deliveries away, whilst also maintaining a good standard of housekeeping in the stores area.

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Delivering product on time to our customers
• Keep customers updated on orders and deliveries
• Monitoring customer orders and deliveries
• Unloading deliveries and putting stock in to their correct locations (physical location and book onto Core ERP system)
• Ensure the correct reporting of damaged /faulty stock in timely fashion and organising return to Central Warehouse when required
• Good housekeeping in particular for the stores area ensuring walkways are free from trip hazards and goods in correct locations
• Assist with sales enquiries either by phone or over the counter when required
• Assist with and participate in stock take when required
• Adherence to maintaining Health & Safety practices and Company policies and procedures
• Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by Management

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The following criteria will be used in the selection process. Only those applicants who meet the essential criteria will be shortlisted for interview. The Company reserves the right to initially shortlist those candidates who meet both essential and desirable criteria.

Essential

• Full, Clean Valid Driving License (B License required)
• Previous experience in stores area or warehouse
• Previous driving experience
• Previous experience in driving a forklift
• Basic level of computer literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience within the Heating/Plumbing industry
• Previous experience of driving a box body type van
• Hold a current forklift licence
• Manual Handling Certificate
• Current Safe Pass
