The group has 30 Heat Merchants branches and 12 Tubs & Tiles showrooms supported by a central warehouse and distribution hub based in Athlone. The Group’s business support services and technical design hub are based in offices in Athlone and Balbriggan.

Due to continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Finance Manager to join the team at their Business Support Office in Athlone, Co Westmeath. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role steering the company's financial direction and contributing to its growth and success.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Reporting to the Head of Finance the Finance Manager role will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the production of monthly management accounts to strict and tight deadlines
  • Reporting group results and interfacing with other areas of the business to ensure timely and accurate submissions and addressing all queries that arise.
  • Provide management support to the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll departments
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements while following established overall group policies.
  • Preparation of cashflows, forecasts and budgets at a group and local level
  • Adhering to all Revenue submission and payment deadlines
  • Providing resilience to the finance function by acting as support for colleagues when needed.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on areas of the business ERP that impact finance.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The following criteria will be used in the selection process. Only those applicants who meet the essential criteria will be shortlisted for interview. The Company reserves the right to initially shortlist those candidates who meet both essential and desirable criteria.

Essential:

  • Recognized qualification (CIMA/CPA/ACA/ACCA)
  • 3-5 years PQE in practice or industry
  • Versatile in MS Office mainly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in People/Team Management
  • Technically minded and aware of all financial compliance requirements that effect the business
  • Experience dealing with external stakeholders, primarily auditors, tax advisors, insurers and financial institutions.
  • Production of annual statutory accounts and exposure to IFRS 16.

Desirable:

  • Similar experience in the Retail industry
  • Track record of delivering on finance projects, internal or external
  • Exposure to working in a fast-paced multi-site company environment with a focus on group reporting and meeting tight month end deadlines
  • Very good working knowledge of large, computerized software solutions (ERP’s such as Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics etc.)
  • Worked with and produced reports through the use of tools such as Power BI, Qlik View, SQL etc.
